All Wyandotte County residents are invited to attend a public forum to help determine the future of the vital 110-acre site at I-635 and State Avenue. This will be a collaborative working session. All of the feedback collected will be presented to the Unified Government Commission in a future public session. The forum will be held on Tuesday, September 19, at the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools Central Office building, 2010 N. 59th Street. Registration begins at 5:30 pm. The Public Town Hall Meeting & Forum runs from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Look for a postcard in your mail with more details. Unable to attend? Mark Twain elementary has challenged us to bring at least $1 each to help survivors of this catastrophic natural disaster in the Houston area.  

 

The donations will be split between the Humane Society of the Greater Houston area and Texasrelief.org.

 

Please watch their attached challenge video from Mark Twain and bring your $1+ to the library, lunch room, or main office.  Let's show KCKPS how big our bulldog heart is!

Are you interested in new leadership experiences, an opportunity to meet other students across Kansas City and have college scholarship opportunities?

 

If you've said yes to any of these questions, 20/20 Leadership is the program for you!

 

We are now recruiting more juniors and seniors for participation in this once per month program that requires students to leave school.  There is no cost to participate in this program.

 

The application for the program is attached and can be turned into the College and Career Center.  It can also be emailed to the address on the back of the application or scanned and sent via email.

Hire KC Youth aims to engage youth this summer like never before and increase opportunities citywide.

 

In a month, on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon, the annual Hire KC Youth Career Fair commences at the MCC - Business and Technology Campus.You can register in advance for this event HERE.  Last year over 1500 youth attended, and this year we predict even more. *It promises to connect youth with employers and experiential exposure to discover career and college pathways.

 

*In addition to applying online via the Hire KC Youth website for summer jobs and internships - hirekcyouth.org - we are also encouraging youth to level up and attain digital badges in the realm of interview-readiness, financial literacy, and professionalism using the LRNG KC platform (lrng.org/kc). Wyandotte's drama club is proud to present our spring production of "Did Someone Say Murder?" April 7, 2017!  We'll have a day performance and a night performance at 6:00 PM for only $2.00.  

 

Until then the drama club welcomes all students and staff to join them in preparation, or even just to watch rehearsals.  The drama club meets everyday at 2:30 in room 295.
